Pilot Episode

The Seinfeld Chronicles (Pilot)

Episode 1: Good News, Bad News

Episode #1; 1:1

Jerry gets tips from Kramer and George about a girl he met that's coming to New York.

To fully understand the numbering system, one must realize that although this is the pilot episode and therefore does not really start season 1, but the second episode created starts season 1, nevertheless we call this episode 1:1 (season 1, episode 1.)

Season One

Episode 2: The Stakeout

Episode #2; 1:2

Jerry and Elaine get into a tiff over being a spectacle. Eventually decide that they'll talk about other people. Jerry and George create the character of Art Vandelay in order for Jerry to go out with Vanessa.

To fully understand the numbering system, one must realize that this is the second episode created, but it actually starts season 1. Nevertheless we call this episode 2, or 1:2. (season 1, episode 2) This is how the system will work for all eps.

Episode 3: The Robbery

Episode #3; 1:3

Jerry goes to do a comedy bit and due to Kramer's stupidity leaves the door open. This leads to Jerry taking a new apartment, but due to a choose gone awry, Jerry feels guilty about taking it instead of George, who also wants said apartment. In the end, a waitress in Monk's gets it, obviously.

Georgy boy becomes Warren Buffett, Jerry pulls out too quickly, and Elaine loses to a bunch of cats, which is not as sad as losing to a perfume.

Season One - Overall Commentary

Overall, this season was the worst, but that's to be expected as it is the first. Everyone is finding themselves, some slower than others (while I stare at Michael Richards). However, there were many funny lines, plots, etc. and the comedy bits were dead on. Jerry's place, everyone's way of life, Monk's, and other details slowly rise to the surface. After thinking about it, the evolution occurred quickly in the first season, especially considering the fact that there were only five eps.

Season Two

Episode 1: The Ex-Girlfriend

Jerry dates George's ex, the sexy southern who doubles as a waitress at Monk's with no accent. Elaine and Kramer are pretty unimportant.

Episode 11: The Chinese Restaurant

Episode #16; 2:11

You shouldn't have to be told what this episode entails, but JG and E are all in a Chinese restaurant throughout the whole episode. Kramer is nowhere to be found. George has some phone problems, Elaine is hungry, and Jerry sees someone he doesn't know, but who knows his uncle, he finds out.

Episode 12: The Busboy

Episode #17; 2:12

George gets a busboy fired, but ends up really saving his life. Elaine can't get rid of her Seattle boyfriend, but does an Elaine as Tiffany to make up for it.

Season Two - Overall Commentary

Overall, Season 2 was a ton better than Season 1. This season included a Top 50 episode (2:6 The Statue) in my Top 50, and was a half season long, as opposed to the first season which was a quarter long. The characters started to get into their individual and collective grooves. We had some fun, but we look forward to Season 3 and the future seasons, as they get much much better than these past eps. See you soon.

Season Three - Overall Commentary

Well folks, that episode ended Season 3. We had some good times and we had some bad times, but overall this season is a beut. It destroyed Seasons 1 and 2, and faced the music of a full season. Well, not really, b/c it was 22 eps with a 2 parter, making it 23, but we won't discuss that. Let's just a take a trip down the memory lane that is Season 3. The point is that it had a 2 parter, it had such celebs as Candice Bergen and Keith Hernandez. It had Newman. It had Babu. It had the Commish. It had a Florida episode, but most of all it had a Jack Klompus. It had the library cop. It had Pumbaa. From Jared's Top 50, it had 3:3 The Pen, 3:5 The Library, 3:7 The Cafe, 3:11 The Alternate Side, 3:13 The Subway, 3:17 The Boyfriend Part 1, 3:18 The Boyfriend Part 2, and 3:19 The Limo. From Adam's Top 50, it starts off his Top 50, none of the eps from Season 1 or Season 2 made said list, but anyway, it includes 3:3 The Pen, 3:5 The Library, 3:7 The Cafe, 3:11 The Alternate Side, 3:13 The Subway, and 3:19 The Limo.

To say this season was the best season would be a lie, as there were many weak or just decent eps. However, to say it was the worst would also be a lie, and an insult to Season 1 and Season 2, as there were many good, great, and hilarious eps as showcased on our respective Top 50s. See you in Season 4.

Season Four

Elaine is in Europe with Doc Reston, or in reality pregnant with Brad Hall's baby. Episode 2: The Trip Part II

Episode #42; 4:2

Well, it turns out that Clint Howard was the serial killer, not Kramer, and Jerry and George do meet up with Kramer. He comes home as if nothing has happened and the exchange of keys completes revolution of the relationship. We assume Elaine is still in Europe/pregnant.

Episode #43; 4:3

Jerry and George come up with the idea for a show about nothing and try to pitch it to NBC. George goes out with Susan, whom Kramer vomits on. We still assume that Elaine is in Europe/pregnant.

George tries to bargain on how much money he and Jerry would get for the pilot, but loses it all together, at least until next episode. Elaine upsets Jerry's virgin girlfriend, causing Elaine to get sued by Ping. Meanwhile, George gets Susan fired because he kissed her in the meeting. The honchos at NBC love the butler idea, so Jerry and George go with it. Kramer watches a lot of TV, in other words, pretty unimportant.

Episode 11: The Contest

Episode #51; 4:11

In this classic episode, George is caught by his mom (who appears for the first time) pleasuring himself which causes her to fall and go to the hospital. This fuels the momentum for the contest between the gang to see who can go the longest without shaking hands with Ben Franklin, polishing the pewter, Alfalfa or Spanky, Buddy Whackit, Spanktravision, jerkin the gerkin, etc. Elaine loses b/c of John John, who ends up with the virgin. Kramer loses because of the girl who walks around naked across the street, whom he ends up sleeping with. Jerry loses because he lost the virgin who was appalled at the contest and so enjoys the naked woman across the street. George wins, or so we think, until the very last episode, when we are told that George cheated.

Meanwhile, Kramer punched out Mickey Mantle, Babu is getting deported because of Jerry and Elaine, but really he should die a slow death.

Episode 16: The Shoes

Episode #56; 4:16

This episode could also be called 4:16 The Cleavage, as it plays a big part in this ep. George and Jerry must get Russell to look at Elaine's cleavage in order for them to get the pilot back on track because George was caught looking at Chuck Sheen's wife's cleavage. Meanwhile, this can all be done if Elaine gives her shoes to Jerry's ex-gal, who is now Kramer's gal, who happens to work with the big fella.

Episode #61; 4:21

A parking valet leaves a horrible odor in Jerry's car, which affects Jerry and Elaine by making them smelly, like Tiffany. Rehearsals of the pilot begin. Russell goes off the deep end, literally, with LD. Morty's wallet is found in Jerry's couch, Elaine was wrong about Monk's, it was his daughters that were working there. Crazy Joe tries to kill Jerry, and characters from the past season comment on The Pilot. It ends up getting cancelled by the new head honcho at NBC, who has become the new head b/c of what happened to Russell, which was Elaine's fault.

Season Four - Overall Commentary

Now as to the meaning and significance of this episode within Season 4. The entire season, from the first episode, has been leading to this season finale of 4:24 The Pilot Part 2. Every episode, from ones with Susan, the exec from NBC, to the ones actually having to do with The Pilot, to all of the characters in eps that had nothing to do with The Pilot, but who returned to pay their respects to Season 4, by commenting on The Pilot, is simply brilliant. In classic and excellent LD fashion, we get links up the wazoo/wing wang. As mentioned in previous commentaries, we have the overarching theme of The Pilot throughout Season 4, Susan throughout Seinfeld itself, as well as Season 4, the jacket, in this episode specifically, the wallet, and everything else that LD threw in to this beautiful season.

This season was one of the greats, better than the last 3. 8 out of 24 episodes, compared to 0 out of 5 episodes in Season 1, 1 out of 12 in Season 2, and 8 out of 23 episodes in Season 3, made the Top 50. This is a testament to its greatness. LD, LC, JS, JA, JLD, MR, WK, PB, KP, SM, BB, PC, and HS all did excellent jobs writing and acting in these hilarious episodes of Seinfeld. Props all around to all who injected a bit of joy and comedy into the bloodstream of Season 4. That said, let us enter Season 5 together in joy and harmony, b/c although Season 4 did have 8 out of 24 episodes making the Top 50, Season 5 has 13 out of 22, that's more than half the season for those who can't count. See you there friend of friends.

Adam - A great episode, a perfect ending to a great season. All of the holes were filled in. Return of many great 4th Season characters. It brought back some great memories. Overall, great episode, great season. 5 out of 24, compared to 0 out of 5 episodes in Season 1, 0 out of 12 in Season 2, and 6 out of 23 episodes in Season3, made the Top 50.

Jerry is Even Steven when it comes to everything and Kramer visits Regis and Kathy Lee, which was a disaster, to promote his coffee table book on coffee tables.

Season Five - Overall Commentary

Overall, this season was nice, can I buy you? We had some great and memorable eps in this beauty of a beat of a season. We had some memorable characters in their first ever eps, such as Poppie, as well as some great and classic scenes such as those found within 5:14 The Marine Biologist, 5:20 The Fire with Tobey Maguire, hey that rhymes, 5:12 The Stall, 5:8 The Barber, and 5:5 The Bris. Just hilarious stuff, that's all. Anyway, we had some laughs. We had some tears. OK, maybe not tears, but we had some laughs. Overall, the season was definitely hilarious. What more can I say?

This season was one of the greats, better than the last 4. 13 episodes made the Top 50 during the 2nd Siyum, then in the 3rd Siyum, one episode was erased, but one was added, thereby making the number static at 13 out of 22 episodes, compared to 0 out of 5 episodes in Season 1, 1 out of 12 in Season 2, 8 out of 23 episodes in Season 3, and 8 out of 24 episodes in Season 4, made the Top 50. This is a testament to its greatness. LD, LC, JS, JA, JLD, MR, WK, PB, KP, SM, BB, PC, and HS all did excellent jobs writing and acting in these hilarious episodes of Seinfeld. Also, we say farewell to TC for his directing skills. He got so much better over the years, but when you have AA waiting in the wings, you've got to say farewell. Props all around to all who injected a bit of joy and comedy into the bloodstream of Season 5. That said, let us enter Season 6 together in joy and harmony, b/c although Season 5 did have 13 out of 22 episodes making the Top 50, Season 6 has 9 out of 21, that's less than half the season for those who can't count. Oh, whoops. Well I guess it's not as good as Season 5, but who knows, maybe we'll see some 3rd Siyum Additions. In any event, see you there friend of friends.

Adam - This season was one of the greats. Fourth to only the 7th, 8th and 9th season, not in order. Yeh had George moving in with his parents, and in the end moving out. A double Jake Jarmel, which in my book, means great season. So many things happened in this season, for it not to be a good season, you had pretty boy Tony, umm, the tryouts are four hours, pops, sea was angry that day my friends, and of course my name is George, I'm unemployed and I live with my parents. Need I say more? Need I say more? 12 out of 22, compared to 0 out of 5 episodes in Season 1, 0 out of 12 in Season 2, 6 out of 23 in Season3, and 5 out of 24 episodes in Season 4 made the Top 50.

George is part of a book club with his gal, but can't read it, so he tries to watch the movie. It's out of the movie store, so he goes to the person who has it, namely a father and daughter. Mr. Pitt is also mesmerized by a 3-D picture, that Kramer bought and left at Mr. Pitt's, and becomes so obsessed that Elaine goes to a merger meeting and turns him into Hitler. Kramer dates a waitress at Reggie's, who's pissed off at Kramer b/c he doesn't have any food in his fridge, b/c he's only eating fresh food, b/c of his kidney stone. He possibly crashes the party, both to go there, and to check about his teeth, which hurt. He knocks a statue over, poking a hole in Woody Woodpecker, which in the Thanksgiving Day Parade ends up deflating, to the dismay of Mr. Pitt, who was one of the guys holding the strings under the float, who was placed there by Elaine, who knew that the song on the radio was Next Stop Pottersville. After all of that, I'll tell you why the name of the episode is what it is: Kramer tries to save a Mom and Pop Store by giving them all of Jerry's sneakers, but ends up putting them out of business with his bloody nose. Jerry catches his dry cleaner wearing his jacket to a movie. Kramer meanwhile meets Uma Thurman at the theater and writes her phone number down on Jerry's clothing ticket for his mom's fur coat. Kramer gets hooked on the whole thing, but doesn't understand everything about it, including that it's a sensitive topic, when he brings it up to children as a store Santa Clause with Mickey, where they both get fired. Meanwhile, Elaine is blacklisted from Hop Sing, a Chinese restaurant, and ends up naming names, namely Ned Isakov, her boyfriend, who's father stayed there when he was blacklisted. Finally, the name of the ep is The Race because Jerry is dating a gal named Lois, which he obviously loves, and her boss is a childhood friend of Jerry's and George. At the time, they had raced, and Jerry got a huge headstart, but no one noticed except George. Jerry was known as the fastest kid in school. Duncan, her boss, always demanded a rematch, but Jerry refused each time b/c he liked being known as the fastest kid. No matter how hard Jerry tries, Duncan refuses to let it go, and ends up finally getting to race Jerry, who wins again b/c of a false headstart a la Kramer.

She injures herself and because of her sadness about her injury and her crazy gay assistant, Elaine can't get Pitt's racket back. Kramer acknowledges his first name and becomes a new man because of it. He tries making up with his mom, but she ends up sleeping with Newman, never to be seen on Seinfeld again. Jerry meanwhile is dating a non-laugher, which he hates, b/c he's a comedian, but her roommate has a great laugh. He and George try to think of a way to do "The Switch" in order for Jerry to date the roommate. In order to break up with her, he tries to use his threesome trick from last episode (6:11 The Switch), but again it backfires because they want to do it with George. Jerry can't go to the super bowl b/c The Drake's wedding is on Super Bowl Sunday. So he gives the tickets to Tim Whatley. Meanwhile Elaine gave him a label maker baby as a gift, but he gives it to Jerry (a regift), then tries to go upstairs with Elaine, who doesn't realize he means sex, and then agrees to go with him to Super Bowl Sunday, where he thinks a romp will occur. Jerry notifies Elaine of Whatley's intentions, she tells him we ain't sleeping together, he takes back the ticket and gives it to Jerry (a degift to Elaine), and then Elaine catches him that he did this, but then they make out and Jerry goes with Newman to the Super Bowl, who also got all of Scott's stuff b/c the labels fell off of his boxes.

Kramer repeatedly ruins a cop's chances of catching his "white whale", a scofflaw, who has so many tickets, that he scoffs at The Law. It turns out that this scoffer is Newman. Kramer gets an eyepatch cuz he thinks it looks cool and helps Newman clear his record by going to court. He is ordered to put his car in a parking lot, which, afford it he will, b/c it was Gary Fogel's spot that was given to George. Gary Fogel is a friend of Jerry's and George, who told people, except George, that he had cancer. George gave him a guilt trip and he gave him the parking space, parking space, parking space. George told him that he still owes him a secret, so he told him that he never really had cancer. Jerry obviously gets it out of George b/c he never wins at poker, but George tells Jerry he can't tell on him, even though he paid for his toupee. She ends up falling for the gay guy, and converts him temporarily, but in the end, due to her deficient knowledge and expertise with the equipment, even as whorish as she is, she can't beat people who have the equipment 24x7. Jerry lies to a cop gal about watching Melrose Place, while Kramer gives food to a homeless guy, but doesn't get the tupperware back from him, and ends up going into police lineups for $50 a pop. The reason they went to the police station is so that Kramer's police sketch artist friend could sketch a girl that Kramer is setting George up with, now that he has hair. Jerry decides that he's done with that whole program, but it becomes harder b/c Kramer puts up pictures of everyone in the building and so he gets constant kisses hello. Jerry puts a stop to this also, and does so nicely, which obviously backfires on him to the nth degree. Kramer meanwhile goes out with Wendy, because he likes her hairdo, when the only reason Elaine introduced them was so that Kramer could tell her that her hairdo was horrible and then she'd be able to date. George misses his appt., and he got charged, so when Wendy and Elaine go skiing, he charges Wendy. After skiing, Wendy made Elaine walk home with her skies, nearly hitting NB, causing her to get injured and then goes to Wendy for treatment, who wants to charge her. George is fascinated by Jimmy, especially his jumping prowess, which is due to the shoes that Jimmy wears as well as sells. So, George goes into business with him to sell the shoes, but Kramer ruins everything. He went to see Tim Whatley, DDS, and he gave him a lot of novocaine, which causes him to drool and spill his water all over the floor, causing Jimmy to slip and fall, thereby ruining George's and Jimmy's business. Meanwhile, Kramer, who's drooling and has the weird shoes on, and is also Kramer, is thought to be mentally challenged by one Arnold Deensfrei, who invites him to be at the head table with him and The Velvet Fog, Mr. Mel Torme. Elaine is also going to this benefit, with Jimmy as her date, and by that time, the novocaine has worn off and Kramer is not disabled anymore, which would be a problem. So Jimmy ends up punching Kramer for putting him out of commission, literally, and so Kramer ends up looking, sounding, and acting disabled again. Meanwhile, George starts imitating Jimmy by referring to himself in 3rd person, especially when he's angry or under pressure. Wilhelm suspects him of stealing from the Yankees b/c he sweats each time he confronts him or talks about it. Also meanwhile, Jerry has also gone to Whatley, who now has Penthouse magazines, doesn't allow kids, and swaps nurses with another dentist. After quizzing her to see how far this goes, he falls in love with her, b/c he gets to wear sweatpants and can drape himself and velvet and still have sex with this woman. That relationship ends when she sucks on the pit of the Macanaw peach that he just finished eating. Meanwhile, Kramer and Newman, every year, get Macanaw peaches, which are only good for a certain period of time each year. Jerry's apt. is being fumigated b/c of the fleas, but Kramer didn't realize this and lost his sense of taste b/c he was in there for an hour and a half, reading the manuscript that Elaine was supposed to read. Newman eats all of the peaches, including the last one, when Kramer finally gets his sense of taste back, right in front of his face, so he launches a dog, which originally gave Newman the fleas, who gave it to Jerry's apt. Elaine finds out she needs to read that script after Kramer reads it and can't find it in the fumigated apt., so she must rely on Kramer's summary of it, which was suprisingly good and would have gotten her the job, had it not been for the trashing of the room.

Episode 21: The Fusilli Jerry

Episode #107; 6:21

Elaine is dating David Puddy, who shows up for the first time, who's Jerry's mechanic. He has Elaine find out what Puddy would charge to fix the car and finds out that the new place he's using is screwing him, so he brings the car to Puddy, saves money, and allows Puddy to use the move. George tries to do Jerry's move, but can't remember the order of the steps, so he writes it down and gets caught and dumped. Kramer gets someone else's vanity plates that read Assman, and drives home Estelle from her eyejob and stops short and puts out his hand. This was Frank's move, so he goes to yell at Kramer. Meanwhile, Kramer has been making pasta versions of his pals, starting with Fusilli Jerry, which Frank falls down on and must go to the proctologist, who also it turns out, was the one that got Kramer's plates.

However, because of Jerry's agent, Jerry gets kicked off the plane, b/c she chewed out the pilot, for merely being in the audience, causing Jerry to freak out b/c she said that the pilot was in the audience. Season Six - Overall Commentary

Overall, this season was nice, can I buy you? We had some great and memorable eps in this beauty of a beaut of a season. We had some memorable characters in their first ever eps, such as Mr. Pitt, Lauren Bowles, Mr. Morgan, Nana, Elaine's new apartment, Kenny Bania, Tim Whatley, Babs Kramer, Cosmo, Bob Shaw (6th Season Cabbie), George's new apartment, Wilhelm, Puddy, and Peterman, as well as some great and classic scenes such as those found within 6:4 The Chinese Woman, 6:5 The Couch, 6:6 The Gymnast, 6:10 The Race, 6:11 The Switch, 6:19 The Jimmy, 6:20 The Doodle, 6:21 The Fusilli Jerry, and 6:24 The Understudy. Just hilarious stuff, that's all. Anyway, we had some laughs. We had some tears. OK, maybe not tears, but we had some laughs. Overall, the season was definitely hilarious. What more can I say?

This season was one of the greats. Not as good as Season 5, at least in terms of Top 50 eps, but better than the first 3 seasons. 9 episodes made the Top 50 during the 2nd Siyum, then in the 3rd Siyum, nothing was changed, thereby making the number static at 9 out of 24 episodes, compared to 0 out of 5 episodes in Season 1, 1 out of 12 in Season 2, 8 out of 23 episodes in Season 3, 8 out of 24 episodes in Season 4, and 14 out of 22 episodes in Season 5 made the Top 50. This is a testament to its greatness. LD, LC, JS, JA, JLD, MR, WK, PB, KP, SM, BB, PC, and HS all did excellent jobs writing and acting, while AA did a great job directing, in these hilarious episodes of Seinfeld. Props all around to all who injected a bit of joy and comedy into the bloodstream of Season 6. That said, let us enter Season 7 together in joy and harmony, b/c although Season 6 did have 9 out of 24 episodes making the Top 50, Season 7 has 10 out of 24, that's more than half the season for those who can't count. So, it's better than Season 6, which was already one of the most hilarious seasons. In any event, see you there friend of friends.

Adam - Season 6 on the whole was somewhat of a disappoitnment. You have one episode for me that would be on my Top 10, 6:24 The Understudy. But comparing Season 6 to Season 5 is like comparing apples to oranges. Greatness to goodness. After Season 5, you felt that the best has yet to come and that it would either duplicate its 12 Top 50 episodes or even surpass it. But not only did it not duplicate it, it lose 4 episodes to make it only 8. That alone shows how this season was kind of a disappointment. Nevertheless, it is still much better than the first 3 seasons, but it does not beat the other seasons. They did a great job ending said season on an extremely high note with 6:24 The Understudy. Now let's take that into the new season and welcome Season 7 with open arms. 8 out of 24, compared to 0 out of 5 episodes in Season 1, 0 out of 12 in Season 2, 6 out of 23 in Season3, and 5 out of 24 in Season 4, and 12 out of 22 episodes in Season 5 made the Top 50.
