Episode 11: The Switch

Episode #97; 6:11

Our Summary

George thinks that his hot girlfriend is throwing up after meals, so he asks Kramer's mom, Babs, who works as a matron, to see if she's throwing up or just freshening. While talking with her, George finds out that Kramer's first name is Cosmo. Elaine lends Mr. Pitt's tennis racket in order to get the job at Doubleday to the woman she tried to get the job with in the beginning of the season. She injures herself and because of her sadness about her injury and her crazy gay assistant, Elaine can't get Pitt's racket back. Kramer acknowledges his first name and becomes a new man because of it. He tries making up with his mom, but she ends up sleeping with Newman, never to be seen on Seinfeld again. Jerry meanwhile is dating a non-laugher, which he hates, b/c he's a comedian, but her roommate has a great laugh. He and George try to think of a way to do "The Switch" in order for Jerry to date the roommate. George thinks he figured it out in that Jerry should ask his non-laughing girlfriend for a threesome with the roommate. Of course it backfires b/c they gals agree to it, but Jerry can't be an orgy guy.

Our Commentary

No OCB or CCB is found in this episode, because it is so hilarious it doesn't need any to help it out. This Top 50 ep is simply hilarious. We get the gayest guy ever, who should be drinking champagne coolies with the wig master or serving on the ship in LSL7. We get George's girlfriend who thinks that he is a shark that kills people in Amity in Orlando. We get huge significant things such as Kramer's first name being Cosmo and seeing Babs for the first time. We get a beautiful LD, What do you say Cosmo? with Kramer answering Everything. We get a beautiful Newman, making out with his best bud's mom and that he is fantastic at tennis, or tinnis as the lady from Doubleday calls it, who loves tinnis so much that she should die without it. All of this, would make this episode extremely hilarious, and possibly worthy of Top 50 status. But what pushes it into the stratosphere, past the Ozone layer, and into the far recesses of outer space, is Jerry and George discussing The Switch. It is simply, yet complexly, one of the funniest scenes throughout the halls of science. Whatever film noir movie it spoofs, as well as its continuation with Babs and Newman, is excellently hilarious. Then Jerry's explanation in his typical hilarious fashion, of why he can't be an orgy guy, is perfectly perfect. Overall, a solidly hilarious funny awesome episode. Adam - Hilarious episode. Would not have made my Top 50 without the lunch scene, but after seeing that, I couldn't even dare to not put it on.
