Mr. Wilhelm is a top guy in the Yankees organization. He's George's boss, and Morgan's boss, but he's still just one of many thousands of underlings of Big Stein.

"(singing) Meet the Mets, meet the Mets. Come right out and greet the Mets."
- Wilhelm 8:20 The Millennium

The character of Mr. Wilhelm was introduced in 6:19 The Jimmy, albeit uncredited, as one of George's bosses at the Yankees. After turning in this terrific and spellbinding performance, Richard Herd was asked back to continue this role, finally getting the credit he deserved in 7:14 The Wink, and continued to receive said credit whilstbeing showered with kudos by critics worldwide.

He goes nuts eventually and does George's work for him, albeit in an insane way, but that doesn't stop him from staying with the Yanks. It probably happened b/c he was taken and brainwashed by the Sunshine Cleaning Service Cult, and they messed him up good, real good. His Major League Baseball expertise is also showcased at another level when he temporarily becomes the head of the Mets scouting. He has a wife, thinks Jorge is a good employee, but a terrible liar, is the last to leave at night from The Bronx, and likes Kramer's twirl.

Basically, you can sum up Wilhelm by saying that he doesn't feel it's neccessary to say good morning to your boss if a fellow worker's life is at stake.
