Our Summary

The problem gets solved when they move into the Costanzas' house. They are able to move in b/c Frank and Estelle have moved to Florida, as George, who was trying to decide whether to keep his inheritance but keep his parents nearby, or let them move to Florida and lose his inheritance. They decide without him to move to Florida. Meanwhile after Jerry bounced a check in the last episode, 8:11 The Little Jerry, his parents think he's broke, so they sell the Cadillac to Jack Klompus for $6,000 and give the money to Jerry. He refuses, buys the car back from Klompus, fixes it first after he puts it in a swamp, and then must sleep in the back of his car b/c he's broke, causing Frank to bring himself and Estelle back to Queens. Morty and Helen are worried about Jerry's money situation, so Morty ends up getting a job, working for Elaine, when suddenly, Peterman comes back from Burma to resume his position, as well as Elaine resuming hers, and Morty quitting.

Our Commentary

This hilarious episode has some hilarious parts, but there is something about it that makes me deny its entry into the Top 50 with its fellow Season Eight eps. I think that the problem is that it is too weird. There are too many odd situations going on and Jerry is not in his apartment to listen to everyone's problems. Instead, he flies back and forth to Florida. It's just too weird. Pete Mehlman has been with us since the beginning, but there is something missing in his writing of this ep. Anyway, hilarious stuff with Peterman coming back with his "Oh, Elaine, this dry air is curing me like a Black Forest ham." in classic Peterman style, George and Elaine's "Stickin' it!", Slappy White, Kramer's "That was alright", they're married scene, anything dealing with Aunt Baby, Kramer comparing the lovemaking to strawberry pie, and pretty much anything Jack Klompus says. Overall, a solidly hilarious episode, that misses the Top 50. Adam - First episode that does not make the Top 50 in Season Eight which is a feat upon itself. Still some very funny parts, but just not funny enough my love, not funny enough, my love.
