Kramer and George aren't in this episode. Elaine and Jerry head down to Florida where Elaine gets back problems, Jerry's eyes get ruined, and there's a problem with a simple man named Jack Klompus and his pen.
Our Commentary
OCB and CCB hilarious, our first Florida episode is a brilliant one, that was the second of Jared's Top 50 and the first of Adam's. Jack Klompus is a goldmine of laughs, with his emphasis on second syllables. Uncle Leo returns with his second brilliant performance, bringing Cousin Jeffrey into the mix. Jerry's bit about length of trip genius, as well as all of the ideosyncracies of old people in Florida. Elaine hilarious with her drugged up personality. Only after watching the ep does one realize that George and Kramer weren't in it. That says something. Overall brilliantly magnificent ep., a stellar piece of LD writing. Simply beautiful.

SUMMARY Elaine accompanies Jerry on a nightmare trip to Florida to visit his parents, where they end up
sleeping on a bad sofabed. Jerry causes a stir when he accepts an astronaut pen from Jack Klompus.
OF SPECIAL NOTE Jerry based this episode on his mother's sofabed at her Delray Beach retirement community
