Episode 14: The Marine Biologist

Episode #78; 5:14

Our Summary

Jerry tells a college buddy that George is a marine biologist. She goes out with him on the beach and he must save a beached whale who became beached because Kramer hit one really good shot of a golfball out into the ocean. Jerry fakes Elaine out by telling her that the orignal title of War and Peace was War, What is it Good For?, and she brings that up to the Russian writer that Pendant is hosting. He throws Elaine's organizer out the window, which was given to her by Kramer, and it hits Carol Kane on the head. She tracks Jerry down, trying to recover money, to no avail, and it is thrown out the window again, this type of an apartment, not a limo, and hits her on the head again.

Our Commentary

Hilarious stuff with golden boy and baby blue enclose this hilarious episode. Perhaps one of the most famous scenes in Seinfeld a la "The sea was angry that day my friends", is found in this episode. It is simply hilarious. We also get one of my favorite Kramer soliloquies with "Who wants to have some fun?" George is hilarious with his plankton, algae. Uri Testikoff is one of the funniest guys ever with his inspyrations, and you Americans always running with your sneakers, as well as Jerry's hilarious ending line, "You're a real pleasure." Carol Kane is great with her Crow-ell, and inexplicably we get Newman mosying down the street when Kramer drops a boot on his head. Then of course we have the reason why this episode is really one of the greats in the Top 50, the funniest character of all time, whether it be television, film or broadway, Mr. Lippman. Overall one of the funniest episodes, a job done well, and a job well done. Adam - One of the bests, this episode can not and will not be beat. What a job done by all who took part in it, whether it be the Russian writer, or even Larry David, all played a major part.
