Episode 12: The Stall

Episode #76; 5:12

Our Summary

Jerry's gal can't "spare a square" for Elaine, but neither of them know who the other one is until later on in the ep. Meanwhile, George loves Elaine's mimbo boyfriend, whom he's negligent for damages in letting him fall while rock climbing, damaging his face, which damages his relationship with Elaine. Kramer determines that Jerry's gal is a phone sex operator, and ends up getting screwed by Elaine when she finds out it was she in the bathroom.

Our Commentary

We are missing the OCB from our version of eps, so we look to the scripts, and alas, they must have the same version we did, b/c they don't have the OCB either. Perhaps some of the most classic and funniest lines/scenes are found in this episode. We have one of the funniest scenes, in my opinion, ever, between Kramer and Jerry, which can be found modified, in the opening page to this site, in the form of "Am I, Is it, Can It?" Stimply hilarious. Spare a square, step off, mimbo, manana-nada, the entire Erica/Jane duality, garlicky/gum with a great Jerry ingenuity, and some beautiful LC writing between George the Schoolgirl and Tony the Mimbo. Overall, a beautiful episode, amongst the greats of Seinfeld lore. Adam - Excellent episode. One of the most hilarious episodes ever. Well deserved to be in the Top 50. Before Jared Jerome begins his commentary on this episode, I must warn the visitor to this page that he did not just see the episode, so he may be a bit rusty. JJ - First of all, one of the all time greats, without even evaluating all of the other episodes, I could automatically put it in the Top 10. For some reason I love the part where Kramer comes into the coffee shop with George and what's his name Tony Tony, and is as cool as the other side of the pillow, as he totally outdoes George by horning in on their plans for the next day, Manana I'm doing nada. Also great portrayal as George acting like a schoolgirl with a crush. One more positive: For a change, Jerry's girlfriend actually delivers an excellent acting performance. Well done Larry.
