Not Even Close!

Russel, the once head of NBC, was a complex and in control character until he saw Elaine's cleavage. But let's start at the beginning, for it's a very good place to start. His name. As shown in the opening title, when George tries to spell his last name, Russell replies "not even close". So, I checked all of the eps credits and it only says "Russell", no last name. I checked the scripts and they sometimes had Dalrymple and sometimes Dalrimple. The episode guide had Dalrimple. Since this extra bit of weight is on the Dalrimple side, I would say his name is Dalrimple. However, why would Russell say that George is not even close with that one, he only switched the 'L' and 'E'. Instead, Dalrymple, in which he also replaced the 'Y' with and 'I', makes more sense. Either way, just call him Russell.

The character of Russel Dalrymple was introduced in 4:3 The Pitch and was typecast in the role of the head of NBC as he did it again in HBO's The Late Shift. Anyway, Bob Balaban, as he is known to his friends and family and I guess everyone else in the world, did an excellent job in this role as well as all of his roles.

Russell is divorced and has one child, Denise Richards, from that marriage. He lives in a duplex with a doorman in Manhattan. He can have any woman he likes and we know he went out with Elaine once and a blonde bit*h too. He's an excellent negotiator, likes food cooked by Norman Brenner in restaurants that look like Poppie's, but are called Roman Phiphers, and becomes sick easily by eating food that was sneezed on. He also doesn't like people getting good looks at his dotter's cleavage. This all changes when Elaine shows her cleavage. It blinded him, b/c it's like the sun, and made him obsessed with Elaine b/c of her charming nature. This obsession drives him mad, so mad that he just leaves NBC, and NY for that matter, to join Greenpeace for Elaine with LD who happens to have a GP member/activist wife.

There's really only one thing to know about Russell. He has a ketchup secret.
