Episode 2: The Trip Part II

Episode #42; 4:2

Our Summary

Well, it turns out that Clint Howard was the serial killer, not Kramer, and Jerry and George do meet up with Kramer. He comes home as if nothing has happened and the exchange of keys completes revolution of the relationship. We assume Elaine is still in Europe/pregnant.

Our Commentary

An hilarious OCB begins this hilarious second part of the episode. Beautiful stuff with George and Jerry about George's craving for lunch/breakfast, 911 stuff, Jake Jarmel's and his partner's craziness, Jerry and George being little kids in the back of the black and white/cop car. We then have one of the greatest actors of our generation, Clint Howard, in one of his most brilliant performances of all time as the serial murderer. He is hilarious with Jerry and George about tipping chambermaids. Kramer is great with his shaving and tanline, stimply stimply hilarious with Kramer at the visitor's window in jail, with his seemingly normal and jovial time which he then spins around and screams get me out of here. Finally we have hilarious stuff with Kramer and the lieutenant as well as the truth about the guy in the park, the classic scene of G, J, and K dancing because there was another murder, and finally a heartfelt/funny scene at the park bench. The episode ends with one of the most endearing moments of Seinfeld, when Kramer comes in to get some food after returning from Cali with no explanation and Jerry says, "Kramer" and throws him the keys, and showing in true Seinfeld form that we can't end in a heartfelt moment, Kramer throwing his keys and knocking things over. This, the better half of The Trip, is a great way to kick off Season 4. Although I used to dislike it, it holds a special place in my heart, probably the right ventricle. Adam - One of the best episodes ever. Hilarious.... On a side note, this ep was never on mine or Adam's Top 50, but after seeing it during the 3rd Siyum, it is on both of them! Lastly, this ep was so great that it made you forget that there even was a fourth chracter on the show.
