Episode 7: The Slicer

Episode #163; 9:7

Our Summary

Kramer is fed up with horrible deli slices of meat, so he buys his own slicer. Elaine borrows the slicer to feed a cat next door who's automatic feeder was turned off b/c Kramer shorted out her neigbors circuit so the alarm would shut off so Elaine could sleep. Elaine gets slicer happy and dings his blade so he brings it down to Kruger Industrial Smoothing to fix it. Meanwhile, George's new boss, Mr. Kruger, has a picture of George in it, which will jog his memory and cause him to fire George for throwing his kids' boombox into the ocean back in the summer of '89. So, George tries to airbrush himself out, only to get Kruger airbrushed out, causing him to need a picture of a barechested Kruger in order to fix the picture. Jerry meanwhile is dating a dermatologist who claims that she saves lives, and so Jerry, at the behest of George, goes on a revenge date with her, but then he finds out about the skin cancer, and it blows up in his face. George then gets this gal to give a skin cancer screening at his work so he can nab said pic, but Jerry ruins it b/c he thinks that she gave him hives, so Kramer must step in and help Georgie boy out.

Our Commentary

Just a brief warning: we watched this episode a while ago to say the least. This Top 25 episode is stimply hilarious. First of all we get our first K Space Uger, K Space Uger's House of Love, and a pear shaped loser. This episode just misses the Top 20. We start the episode off with the hilarious opening dream sequence of the gang in bed together, a nice link back to Kramer's sausage press in 9:4 The Blood, Sara Sitarides, revenge date with the super quoted line of "Well I started off classy", which was repeated many times in WDW, with such greats like "Well I started off Rock'n. Yeah you did, you Rocked it up!", for the Rock'n Roller Coaster, etc.; well I guess I just assumed, Peanuts character, a bear chested Kruger, the SP2000, cuz I gotta slice; Pimple Popper MD?, That's the one, Still got it; a lot of potatoes, Have you been wearing a fake beard, test tube pin cushion, and the ten minute delay of Kramer not being able to find the stock room, and moles - freckle's ugly cousin keep me rolling on the floor with this episode. Then we get Kramer's ultra hilarious convo with Kruger, which I'll just insert here:

KRAMER: Male mammal. Approximately 30 to 60 years of age. Weight...uh indeterminate. Ok, Mr. Kruger, we are gonna take a photo now for the records. So if you'll stand up please and give me a big smile, oh no no no, not that big. Yeah, that's nice, yes okay. Yes, let's have a looksee...ok, so eh, fiber from shirt on the left shoulder. I'm gonna have to keep my on that.
KRUGER: How long have you been doing this Dr. Van Nostrand?
KRAMER: Uuh, long long time. Yes, I've seen moles so big they have their own moles. Freckles that cover two men.
Then skip to:

KRAMER: Well, he's got a mole on his shoulder. Very suspicious.
GEORGE: So, tell him you're concerned about it and he should see someone else.
KRAMER: George, why would I, a Juilliard trained dermatologist, send him to another doctor? (Juliard??? It's a drama school!)
GEORGE: Because, you're not a dermatologist.
KRAMER: He thinks I am. I'm not gonna betray that trust. Here's what I wanna do; I think I can get a section...

Then we have the hilarious scene with the toxic Bronzo reacting to the poison Dr. Sitarides gave Jerry, who throws it on Kramer's face who says that it's toxic, and finishing it with some aloe, caps this ultra hilarious episode off. Adam - Hilarious episode. Well deserved of the Top 10. What didn't this episode have in it? Jack Klompus, Morty and Helen Seinfeld, and one Kenneth Bania, but we don't dwell on what it didn't have, we dwell on what it did. You've got Mr. Potato Head, you've got so much that I'm speechless. But you do have Jerry saying to Sitarides that it must take a pretty large zit to kill a man. (Adam then shakes his head up and down repeatedly, as if acknowledging the fact that it was a great episode.) It was beautiful. That is all.
