The character of Evelyn was introduced in 3:3 The Pen, as a friend of Morty and Helen. Although Ann Morgan Guilbert, who portrayed this quintessential elderly character, only appeared in two episodes and was credited for two episodes, but not the same two episodes. The other episode she was credited for was 7:15 The Cadillac Part 2, where she decided to remove her middle name from the credits and the other episode that she actually appeared in was the first part of that episode, 7:14 The Cadillac Part 1. In either case, most Seinfeld fans agree that two episodes was all that was neccessary for Ann.
Evelyn has informers on every street corner concerning every event in DBV. She knows all about Jack's tussle with Jerry over Jack's pen by way of Blanche, and concerning Morty's impeachment, she has the likes of Saul Brandus for her info, and for his removal from the condo itself, she has cronies like Arnold. She probably gets all of these informants by being a social networking phenom, by attending parties such as those hosted by the Lichtenbergs. She even has a nephew named Larry who's a brilliant lawyer when it comes to fighting over microphones and pens.
All told, she may be an illegal drug, but the kids seem to love it and we love her.
