Kramer tries smoking a cigar in Monk's, but is given the boot by Larry, the Owner/Manager of Monk's, so he invites everyone who was kicked out back to his place for some smoking action. This leads to Kramer suing the tobacca companies, with Jackie Chiles at his side, but as usual, Kramer has a pow wow and screws his lawyer over. Meanwhile, George can't have sex with his gal b/c she has mono, so George becomes a genious and decides never to have sex again, while Elaine becomes an idiot b/c she can't have sex with her guy, who is studying to become a doctor. Jerry gets bumped from career day a couple of times and then David Letterman is not returning your calls.
Our Commentary
This Top 50 ep is hilarious. It begins with hilarious and ends with hilarious, with a dose of hilarious in the middle. It's a hilarious sandwich. Beautiful stuff with the intro of Jerry, George, and Kramer flying over the Andes b/c they have a soccer game in Chile, the whole thing of Kramer inviting people into his place to smoke, a brief return of Sue Ellen Mishke with a huge return of that man of wonders Jackie Chiles, with his usual shtick, and Bob Odenkirk at his usual level of Porno Gil brilliance. Hilarious stuff with George becoming brilliant and Elaine becoming stupid. I love when Elaine is watching the tires go round and round and she claps and moves her head in a circular direction, as I would do if I saw those cool tires go round like that. I also love George finishing off the Rubik's cube, teaching Jeter and "How ya doing Bernie, oy vey, oy vey" how to hit home runs and how simple it is to do so, with his retort to that bastard Jeter of that they won the World Series, that they only did so in 6 games. Kramer is classic with his super gullibility when he thinks the opposing lawyer has the hots for him, and the scene between Kramer and Jerry arguing over the fate of smokers is stimply hilarious. I crack up like a broken hard boiled egg each time I see it. Finally, I love it when Elaine says "Look it!". Overall, a solidly hilarious episode. Adam - This episode is good stuff. It's a good stuff sandwich. George giving the answers to Jeopardy with the last being Chicken Kiev, Kramer becoming a shrunken head by the time the case goes to court, do I detect a Portuguese accent, of course absolute zero!, and everything that comes in between. Just a beautiful, beautiful episode.
