Episode 18: The Frogger

Episode #174; 9:18

Our Summary

Parties are being thrown non-stop at the House of Peterman, and Elaine can't take it anymore, so she denounces all of her coworkers. However, she has developed a sugar addiction and decides to raid Peterman's fridge and eats an unsuspecting piece of cake. Unbeknowst to Elaine, but soon beknownst to her, it's worth $29k and is 60 years old. She tries to go back and even it out so as not to get in trouble, but we're in Season Nine, so Elaine goes insane and eats the rest of the cake. She then must try and find another one, which Kramer helps her out, sort of, and tells her to replace it with an Entenmann's. She ends up getting caught at the end of the ep. George decides to buy the Frogger video game at his and Jerry's old high school hangout, which is closing down, b/c he has the high score. Problems abound as usual. Jerry is dating Elaine's friend, who's a sentence-finisher, but b/c of The Lopper, the murderer who's been taking people's heads off by Riverside Drive, where the sentence-finisher lives, Jerry is unable to break up with her, time and time again. Finally, Kramer basically does nothing but provides some background story and introduces people together neccessary for the episode to take place.

Our Commentary

OK ladies and gentlemen. Today's date is 10/11/05, the night before Yom Kippur, and I'm in the bathroom in the attic of my in-laws house in Brooklyn, having come back to the USA for the yom tovim. With only a couple of episodes left to finish, I decided to polish the episodes section off, after a few years of waiting, here it is: My commentary for The Frogger.

HI-larious episode that almost makes the Top 25, has tons of hilarious and oh so-oft quoted lines of Seinfeld lore. We got Walter and Other Walter, a mention of Mountain Dew (the greatest drink of all time and one of the reasons I returned to America!), Get Well Get Well Soon We Wish You To Get Well, The Lopper, Son of Dad, He's the Best ... and the Worst!, Slippery Pete, Shlomo, Peterboy, "Poor old Walt has a polyp in the duodenum. It's benign, but--ooh--still a bastard.", ostrich burger, the holes, "Oh, yeah--Sotheby's. Yeah. They make good cake.", Entenmann's not being really in the supermarket, but "they got their own case at the end of the aisle." by both Kramer and Lubeck, the whole breakup between Jerry and Lisa/Lisi's and specifically Jerry's "Well, I'm sorry I'm not Brad. I'm me!. Nice to meet ya!" and then Lisa/Lisi's "Boy, did your mother do a number on you.", breaking up for 10 hours, little hook up of Lopper and Slippery Pete stealing the battery for the Frogger, and finally, Peterman's "All right, brace yourself, Lubeck. You are about to be launched via pastry back to the wedding of one of the most dashing and romantic Nazi sympathizers of the entire British Royal family." and "Lubeck, you glorious titwillow.", Shlomo looking like a frog and George's Frogger moves in real life to get The Frogger across the street. Overall, a hilarious episode that might make the Top 25 next time around. One never knows. Dismissed.
