George's gal thinks that George hates animals, and forces him to adopt a squirrel he injured while trying to avoid the pigeons, with whom we have a deal. Elaine's coworker sidles in and out, giving himself benefits left and right at work. Elaine tries to rectify the problem with tic-tacs, but to no avail. Jerry's gal has an awesome toy collection that he, George, and Elaine play with when she's been knocked out by turkey and wine. Finally, Kramer finds the old set to the Merv Griffin Show, as the title suggests, and recreates the show in his apartment, with Newman as his sidekick.
Our Commentary
Just a brief warning: we watched this episode a while ago to say the least. Hilarious Top 50 ep contains one of the most hilarious premises in its title, with Kramer and everything that goes on in The Merv Griffin Show, from Kramer talking to the nonexistent cameras, to the whole Scandals with Animals, and welcoming George Costanza everybody, and his love of audiotapes, telling you when to turn the tape off. Great stuff with the tiny instruments, "you have 30 minutes" to be with the squirrel, the whole sex/toys thing, and the whole thing with the sidler. Overall, hilarious episode. Adam - Maybe we should have a guest host really sums up this episode. Brilliant and quirky.
