Episode 8: The Mom-and-Pop Store

Episode #94; 6:8

Our Summary

George buys a convertible on the premise that it was owned by Jon Voight, the actor, when in fact it was owned by John Voight, the periodontist, a friend of Whatley's. Whatley, meanwhile is having a Thanksgiving party, but Jerry is not sure if he is invited, even though GEK were, and Tim asked Jerry for their contact info. He possibly crashes the party, both to go there, and to check about his teeth, which hurt. He knocks a statue over, poking a hole in Woody Woodpecker, which in the Thanksgiving Day Parade ends up deflating, to the dismay of Mr. Pitt, who was one of the guys holding the strings under the float, who was placed there by Elaine, who knew that the song on the radio was Next Stop Pottersville. After all of that, I'll tell you why the name of the episode is what it is: Kramer tries to save a Mom and Pop Store by giving them all of Jerry's sneakers, but ends up putting them out of business with his bloody nose. This causes Jerry to wear boots with George, slipping and falling after George kicks him out of the car, causing his teeth to hurt, causing him to crash the party, etc.

Our Commentary

Nice OCB starts off this hilarious episode. We get our first Tim Whatley in this ep, but everything except him is hilarious. From Jon Voight biting Kramer to Jerry sometimes spelling his name with a G and an I. Elaine's explanation of Mom and Pop's plan to steal Jerry's sneakers, 48 years in the making, Let's Go, and Next Stop Pottersville. Everything in this ep is hilarious. Overall, a solid ep. Adam - Very funny episode. Everyone did a good job. Well done ladies and gentlemen.
