Elaine is back baby! I'm sure JJ isn't happy about that, but I am. Anyway, Doc Reston keeps up a relationship with her due to his svenjolliness. Morty claims that his wallet was stolen at a doctor's office, when in fact it was stuck in Jerry's sofa. George tries to bargain on how much money he and Jerry would get for the pilot, but loses it all together, at least until next episode. Jerry is troubled due to his parents asking where their watch gift is. Kramer is pretty unimportant except for screwing Jerry over by opening his big mouth.
Our Commentary
Awesome OCB starts this beautiful first part of an episode off. We get Morty and Helen at their respective bests with Helen's "how can anyone not like him" and Morty's "my wallet's gone" and needing to pay for things instead of Jerry. We have a beautiful Uncle Leo, Susan giving the Cubans to George who gives them to Jerry, which go on a multiple episode arc themselves. We have the excellent Dr. Reston with his oft quoted (by me and my brother) "you can and you will". We also get George v. Jerry in the negotiating process, which is hilarious as well. Also, I am not sure if I mentioned this before, if not, then I apologize, and I will amend it, but we also have George, or in reality, LD, and his obsession with Ted Danson, from these eps to the 9:23 The Finale Part 1, to CYE, LD loves/hates Ted Danson. Beautiful stuff with Jimmy Sherman and Jerry, Kramer, and Uncle Leo. Elaine makes her first appearance in Season 4, and we have some great stuff with her relationship with the good doctor. Classic LD of having one of Dr. Reston's patients named Bobo and then him thinking about him, lost in space. Finally, great multi-episode arcs backward and forward and all over the place. Overall, a beaut of an ep. Adam - Very funny episode.
