DISCLAIMER: For some reason, unbeknownst to me, Kathleen Tracy says that The Clip Episode counts as only 1 episode, yet the eps that I have, and other episode guides I've seen on the internet, this is considered 2 episodes, Part 1 and Part 2. This obviously affects the numbering system here at the end. I will follow everyone else, except Tracy, and count it as 2 episodes. Therefore, there are 180 episodes, not 179. Also, as another proof that she is wrong is that Jerry says in the beginning of 9:22 The Clip Show Part 2 that there have been 180 episodes. (Although at this point we don't have the finale yet, making it 178 episodes, we must say that he meant that 180 episodes were filmed.)

Episode 21: The Clip Show Part 1

Episode #177; 9:21

Our Summary

In Part 1 of this 2 part episode, which was originally aired as one episode, as all of the others were, we get a bunch of hilarious clips that are either very short and fast paced to music or entire scenes that are longer without music. Towards the end we have a screen that says the following are "People We Know".

Our Commentary

Hilarious episode that should make the Top 50, but since it's a clip show, it's not a real episode, although the intro scene with Jerry is worthy of the Top 50 by itself. Beautiful selection of clips and great pacing with the great music with the Superman music being perfectly timed to Jerry's hand movements in front of the operahouse and George's "how 'bout me with my new head of hair" hand movements, the Michael Jackson song and everyone dancing and everything, just hilarious hilarious. That's right two hilariouses or should I say hilariousi. Perfect ending of all of the sound effects and it's just so dang hilarious. Dang. You know what, it's going into the Top 50. It's too funny not to and I hold that 6:14 Highlights of 100 Part 1 and 6:15 Highlights of 100 Part 2 did not make the Top 50, not only b/c they weren't as funny, most probably b/c they only included the first 5 plus seasons, and not 7-9 which are the funniest of the seasons, but I hold that this was done better that those. Kudos all around.

177."The Clip Episode" (although I've seen "The Clip Show") (May 14, 1998)

SUMMARY Jerry looks back at nine years of memorable moments, ending with a series of bloopers.

OF SPECIAL NOTE This episode was forty-five minutes long. (I must add that this is without commercials, compared to the usual 22 minute episodes. Now, I don't remember if there were commercials during this episode, but if there were, I don't know why Tracy decided to say that this is a 45 minute episode instead of her usual "one hour long special" shtick she uses for other 2 part episodes.)
