He gets so fed up that he lets him work on George's project which is building a place for George to nap under his desk at work. He gets caught hiding under the desk, but Steinbrenner thought that it was b/c he had ESP b/c he knew about the bombthreat, which he in fact did, not b/c of ESP, but b/c he called Jerry to call in a bomb threat in order to get out from beneath the desk by having Steinbrenner leave the office. George demands that Jerry call back a new bombthreat b/c Jerry asked for free custom fit hats, like the players have, which George must take care of. So, Jerry calls back and says he wants all the ticket holders to be called if the game was going to be rained out, and so George hangs up him and Steinbrenner goes nuts, finally thinking that there is a bomb in George's desk, so they destroy it. Elaine's new boyfriend is concerned about his back and decides to go swimming in the East River after Kramer decides to go swimming there after telling him that it's great for the back. Kramer decides to swim in the river after the pool gets too crowded, but b/c he told Elaine's boyfriend, who told his back specialist, who told all of his patients, the river gets too crowded as well.

Our Commentary

This Top 25 ep is stimply hilarious. There are so many classic lines in this ep that I can't even count them all. First of all, before I say anything else, we have our first LD/Steinbrenner in about 10 years, who is one of the funniest characters ever. But besides the fact that he's in the ep, which makes it hilarious, is that it is his best episode. LD is simply the funniest man alive. It's that simple. When I watch CYE, I crack up even when he says "Hello", and so much more so when I hear him in Seinfeld, and even more so, as Steinbrenner. Just go to Steinbrenner's page and you'll see that the majority of the quotes are from this episode. We have February/Febuary, That's what they call me, Fire in the hole, ESP George/Meatballs, for me and my babies!, not knowing his grandkids names, which one are you, "girl", and a bunch of other words that are not even English, as no one can understand what he calls the Godzilla doll nor something about a registrar, etc. The guy is loaded with funniness at his core. Then we have Kramer never being able to remember people's names, at its utmost with Kitzmiller, Jerry at his greatest bastard moment with his "Who is this?" to George about calling in the bombthreat, Jerry screwing George with the hats and then calling ticketholders for a rain delay, the father and son, explaining that Brooklyn is known b/c Spike Lee lives there, and calmly explaining to this little kid how the mob goes about performing "a hit", Kramer first knowing that "technically Norfolk has more gross tonnage", yet later "thinks!" that the East River might be polluted, the greatest desk/fort ever made by Connie, Conrad, Con, Jerry's cool kitchen, and everything else in between. Overall, a solidly hilarious episode, from beginning to end, well deserved to be amongst its peers in the Top 25. Adam - This Top 25 episode is one of the best. With its Connie, Conrad, or Con, to its can I get a stool in here, to its obtrusiveness, everything makes me laugh, and yet I am troubled, even though it's smile, but we won't get into that. A blanket or a quilt, most Beautiful People People, and he sunk like a stone, all of these lines propel this into the Top 25ness that it's become. Well done LD, and well done all of the others.
